In recent years Geoff has continued as a session and band player throughout the UK and has recently joined the exciting Beki Brindle band on UK and European tours.
Geoff: "Working with Beki is a musician's dream. She lets the groove develop and then takes it to highs you wouldn't expect. Add to that superb vocals, guitar and stage presence and you've got Beki Brindle. One really nice lady and a tremendous pleasure to work with. I'm with you, Beki - all the way."
Chris Maidment - Congas/Percussion
Brought up playing with local bands in and around Hertfordshire and London, Chris spend his early career gigging with many fine musicians inluding Paul Young, Street Band, Kris Mach (tenor sax player with Level 42), Bill Roberts (Cahoots). He also recorded with Barry Ryan whilst working with producer John Bachini. More recently, Chris regularly gigs with The Sticky Wicket Swing Band and various projects with Geoff Grimes. Now a member of The Beki Brindle UK band and enjoying every minute.
Chris: "Beki came through the UK like a hurricane. We had never met - I turned up for the first gig and it seemed we had known each other forever. The gigs got better and better - I have never known such a connection in such a short time. The band were awesome and I cannot wait for the next visit: Beki, you are fantastic and it is a real pleasure and honour to share the bandstand with you! xxx"
Sticky Wicket - Drums
Sticky has worked with many greats including Van Morrison, Roger Daltry, Rory Gallagher, Paul Young, Lonnie Donegan, Steve Marriott, Chris Barber, Steve Gibbons and may more, as well as his own Sticky Wicket Swing Orchestra.
Sticky: "I was absolutely delighted with the way it all came together - especially the line-up, which was very different to Beki's US recordings; but the Hammond and percussion really made a difference to the overall sound and feel. It created a funky New Orleans-style flavour and Beki was a real pleasure to work with - great onstage and a delight to be with. The gigs were great and I'm really looking forward to the next installment..."
John Riordan - Bass
John played bass alongside Sticky on drums in Birmingham-based band Clayton Peacock. He has also played with Steve Gibbons and backed artistes such Status Quo, Slade, Andy Fairweather Lowe, Vince Hill, The Pretty Things, and many more.
John: "I was amazed at how Beki Brindle and this band of talented UK musicians had created such a tight-knit musical family in such a short time. I have been told by many who came to see the band that we had produced such a rhythmic and exciting approach to American Blues - so different from other blues bands they had seen in the UK. I am truly proud to be part of the Beki Brindle UK Band's 'engine room' and I cannot wait for the next chapter."
Jo Griggs - Backing Vocals
Jo is lead vocalist/co-producer for a band called Noizdiscoand guests on Beki's new album singing harmonies on Young Woman's Blues, Unforgiven and No Return Blues. She appeared with Beki on the previous legs of the tour, and is now proud to be an official member of the UK Tour band.
Jo: "Beki Brindle is something else. She's a fantastically talented, 'real' musician, whose integrity and presence on stage are electric. You only have to see her perform live once to fall in love with her. I feel honoured and very lucky to be onstage with her and her brilliant bandmates, all of whom are the nicest, most joyful and creative bunch of people you could wish to work or have a beer with!"
