Other Peppy Tidbits: If you were among the majority of record buyers in the 1980's, you owned at
least one Survivor album. What you didn't own was "Balance or In For The Count", arguably a much
stronger performance that came out at the same time. Led by Emil Thielheim (aka Peppy Castro) of
Blues Magoos/Barnaby Bye fame, Bob Kulick (brother of Kiss' Bruce Kulick) and Doug Katsaros, and
featuring studio veterans Willie Weeks, John Siegler and Andy Newmark, "Balance" combined a strong
synth, Europop sound with the power of straight-ahead American rock. The band scored a top 25 hit
with "Breaking Away". Renaissance Records is proud to have the opportunity to bring Balance to a new
audience with a special 2-on-1 CD that comprises their entire catalog. You can now discover or
rediscover Balance - high energy rock at its best! The album features vocalist Peppy Castro (Blues
Magoos) and Bob Kulick (brother of Kiss's Bruce Kulick), along with Andy Newmark (Roxy Music). It
contains the Top 20 track "Breaking Away", and the hits "American Hearts", and "In For The Count".
